Celebrating Baby Girl Murphy

Amy and Jill hosted a baby shower brunch this morning for Lia and I to celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby girl Murphy. We had a wonderful time and are so thankful for all the time and energy Jill and Amy spent to make it a special day for us. The setting, Amy's backyard, was beautiful and the weather was just amazing. The decorations and flowers were gorgeous and the food was delicious! But most importantly, we were surrounded by family and friends who love and support us. We are so blessed!

After we ate, the girls tried to guess the name of the baby. Chris and I decided to go with another three letter name, but we plan to keep it a secret until the baby is born. We did the same thing with Ian and Lia, but it seems like we have more pressure to spill the beans this time! Somehow I was able to keep my mouth shut while everyone was guessing the name. Oh, how I wanted to just shout it out! I really am not a great secret keeper (when it comes to surprises that is), just ask Chris. Some of the names the girls came up with were; Ava (which was the most popular), Eve, Eva, Zoe, Ana and Mai. Did they guess the right one? We will just have to wait about 8 more weeks to find out! :)

One of my favorite things about the shower was seeing Lia so excited about the baby. There were a few times when I wished she would calm down so I could here my friends who were giving me advise or encouragement, but she was too excited for that to happen. Opening the gifts was her favorite part and she especially loved the baby shoes. When baby Paige arrived, Ashley's 2 1/2 week old baby girl, Lia immediately asked to hold her. Lia is going to be a great big sister and a big helper for mommy too!

While Lia and I were at the shower, the boys had a father/son day fishing and hiking at Lake Fayetteville and eating lunch at Jason's Deli.

The beautiful food and beverage tables
I love gerber daisies!!
The kisses say "It's a girl" and the hearts have baby sayings on them - too cute!

Lia received two special gifts - A picture frame from Kate and Abby and a 'big sister' necklace from Kate and Luke
Lia holding baby Paige - isn't she just precious!

It was such a great day! :)
I want to put on record that my real guess is Tea (not like iced tea, but tay-uh).
