New York City - Day 2

We had every intention of getting up early on Friday morning so we could go to the Today Show and wave to the camera. But, when my alarm went off at 5 am (4 am our time), I could not move my body out of the bed. I was just too tired! We had gotten up at 3:30 am on Thursday to make our flight and my old body needed more rest. Of course, Chris just slept through the alarm. We both finally woke up about 7am.

It was freezing on Friday and the wind was excruciating. But, we hit the ground running and started off towards Central Park. We went into the Time Warner Center to warm up before we took our walk in the park. We enjoyed looking and taking pictures of all the beautiful food displays in the Whole Foods Market until I was told by one of the employees that no cameras were allowed.

Central Park was one of my favorite parts of the trip. It was so neat standing in the huge park and seeing the city all around us. I'm sure it is even more beautiful in the summer.

Next up was the American Museum of Natural History. We rode the subway to Grand Central Station for lunch and then took the subway back up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Both of the museums were great, but we would need days to see everything. Chris was fascinated with all the Egyptian artifacts and I liked looking at all the famous paintings in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

We took a cab to Lincoln Center and figured there would be a place close by to eat for dinner. With no reservation, we were out of luck. So we walked back to the Time Warner Center and we were able to get a table at the Porter House restaurant. Thank goodness too because I was tired and cranky and in need of some food! After our bellies were full we decided to call it a day and walked back to our hotel. In the freezing cold!

This is one of my favorite pictures from our trip. I took this from the second floor of the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle. You can see Central Park on the left.
