Okatie Foot Flight

Ian ran in a couple of races today for the annual Okatie Foot Flight at school. The first race was a 1 mile run. He won 3rd place out of all the second grade boys! I was so proud and excited. I told him to start slow and pace himself. Four laps around the track equals 1 mile. Most of the boys took off way too fast and tired out after the first lap. Ian kept a good pace and ran the whole time. I think he surprised himself too! He also ran a 1 mile relay with four friends from his class. Their team won third place as well. Ian was so pumped after school that he came home and ran/walked another mile in our neighborhood. I think he may have caught the running bug! I could not be happier. :)
