Karate Tournament

Saturday, Ian attended his first Karate Tournament in Beaufort. We had no idea what to expect. There were a ton of people and lots of waiting around. We were there for about 4 hours. Thankfully, the beginners went first. Ian competed in Forms and Flag Fighting. Forms is were the students demonstrate moves they have learned for the judges. In Flag Fighting, each student has a belt with two flags and your opponent tries to remove one of your flags from your belt for a point. And vice versa. Being it was Ian's first karate competition, he did really well. He didn't win, but he got out there and tried his best. And, he received a huge 3 foot trophy just for competing. He was in heaven.
