Part of my Christmas gift from Chris were two tickets to see Kenny G this past weekend in OKC. I have been a fan of Kenny G's since junior high school. I even played the alto sax in 7th grade beginner band. I was actually pretty good and really loved playing, but I quit after one year. I decided I did not want to be known as a band geek and I was especially afraid of the uniform. I wish now that I had stayed with it and kept playing. Live and learn, I guess.
Anyway, the show was great and we had amazing seats, 3rd row center. It went by way too fast though. He was performing in a casino and they only allowed him to play for 2 hours, since I'm sure they would rather everyone be out on the floor gambling. I was just so thankful they did not allow smoking in the auditorium. :)
We were away for two nights and we stayed at an amazing modern hotel called the Colcord. We slept in (well, Chris slept in - I tried, but it is hard when you are used to getting up early EVERY morning), watched a movie in our hotel room, took a nap Saturday afternoon and we just HAD to visit the Bass Pro Shop since it was about 3 blocks from our hotel. :)
A big "THANK YOU" goes out to the grandparents for keeping our kiddos for us.
