Spending the Night at the Cabin and Getting our Tree

Chris and I took Ian and Lia to the cabin yesterday and it was the first time that Lia and I have spent the night. It was really cold outside, but the wood burning stove kept us warm. That is until 2 am when more wood needed to be added to the fire! We played the game Sorry and put together a puzzle of the United States. And of course we drank hot cocoa. We had such a fun time and this morning it started snowing! Ali stayed with Ma and Pa while we were gone. It was a hard decision to leave her behind. I know Ian and Lia were much older before I was away from them overnight. But, it was a nice little break for me and I got to focus all my energy on Ian and Lia.

When we got back to town this morning we went by Westwood gardens to pick out a Christmas tree. Our plan was to purchase a live tree so that we could plant it in the backyard after Christmas. But when we found out how heavy and difficult it would be to get it into the house we decided against getting a live tree. Since it was so cold, it did not take us long to pick out our tree. And they did not have a huge selection like they do at Lowes, where we have gotten our trees in the past, so it was pretty easy to pick one quickly.

Brrrrrr
